Beatport has come under recent heat with parent companies folding and artist's criticizing the royalty process. Founding Partner and Former CEO Jonas Tempel had this advice on how to keep the company growing in the future. Click Here to read Tempel's letter "This is Hip-Hop, If you aint write it don't record it". Does Meek redeem himself jabbing at Drake on this one? Is this Fab taking a stang on the beef? The recording studio is a sacred place. Emotions are drawn out, and hopefully classic music gets made. But even on the quietest days in the lab, lessons are learned. I'm very conscious that I'm from a generation of hiphop producers who grew up interning and assisting studio sessions out of necessity. It was during that time that I learned the gems about the recording process as well as how to navigate the industry itself. Lot's of big news has been coming from the Moog team in North Carolina. The new Model 15 app is sitting in most of our phons now, and the return of the Model D has most of us salivating already. But in between working hard to keep our beeps as awesome as possible, the brand has also developed one of the best festival experiences in the states. Check out the video recap of Moogfest 2016 above, and be sure to keep up with our blog to grab our upcoming Moog sample pack, featuring sounds from the Model 15, Animoog, Filtatron, and some devious pedals and amps :) Let us know what your favorite Moog synth is in the comments Grab my new remix of Whitney and Mariah's "When You Believe" for the weekend vibes. Link in bio5/13/2016 One day my shorty talked about how much the Prince of Egypt soundtrack resonated with her because it was the only Disney movie that had Jewish theme. That, and it featured 2 of the most iconic singers of all time on a duet, Whitney and Mariah. Per her not so subtle request, I remix it to something she could dance to. Here's a link so you can dance too. Whitney, Rest in Power Queen. Mariah, call me let's work 😉 ![]()
